Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

- Payment information (processed securely through our payment provider)

Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your password is never stored in a readable form. When you choose or change one, we check it against a public database of passwords exposed in known data breaches, so that we can warn you before an already-compromised password is used to protect your account. Your password is not sent anywhere to do this: it is converted into a fingerprint, and only the first five characters of that fingerprint leave our servers, which is not enough to identify your password or your account. The check is provided by Have I Been Pwned.
Keeping Your Account Secure
When you sign in, we record the time, your network (IP) address and a short description of the browser you used, such as "Chrome on Windows". You can see this for yourself on your profile, and end any session you do not recognise. We keep it for as long as that sign-in lasts.
We also work out roughly where that address is - the country, and depending on the data we hold, the nearest large town - and keep it alongside the sign-in, so the list shows you somewhere recognisable rather than a bare number. It is deleted with the session. If your account is signed in to from a browser you have not used before, we email you so that you can act if it was not you, and that email states the location too.
None of this is used for advertising, profiling, pricing, or to decide what you are shown, and none of it can prevent you from signing in. Travelling or using a VPN will not lock you out or trigger an email on its own.
This is worked out entirely on our own servers, by looking your network address up in a database we hold ourselves. Your address is not sent to the database's publisher, or to anyone else, and we do not use GPS or anything on your device. The result is approximate: it is where your network connects, which is often a different town from the one you are in, and it is never a street address. The email we send you names the publisher of the data it used.
Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share your browsing with third-party advertising or analytics networks. Every cookie we set is strictly necessary to sign you in and keep your account secure, which is why they are not covered by the consent banner. Blocking them will prevent you from signing in.
- sid - keeps you signed in. It holds only a random identifier, never your details, and it cannot be read by scripts running in your browser. It expires after a period of inactivity and is deleted when you sign out.
- csrf - a token your browser sends back with each change you make, so that another website cannot act on your account without your knowledge. It lasts as long as your sign-in does.
- did - lets us recognise a browser you have signed in with before, so that repeated failed sign-in attempts made by someone else cannot lock you out of your own account. It holds only a random identifier, contains nothing that identifies you personally, is never used for advertising or profiling, and expires after six months. Using "Sign out other devices" in your profile removes it from every browser except the one you are using.
We also store a small amount of information in your browser rather than on our servers: your acceptance of the cookie notice, any announcement you have dismissed, and, if you are not signed in, the items you have marked as favourites so that they are still there when you return. This never reaches us.
You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to clear those already stored. If the shop is in its pre-launch phase, an additional admin_auth cookie records that a preview password was entered.
